Job summary/Role description

The Project relates to execution of engineering, procurement of all equipment and materials, construction, and erection work for a new Delayed Coking Unit with coke handling and ship loading, Sour Water Stripper, Amine Recovery units and the revamping of Hydrocracker, Sulphur Recovery, and Utilities & Offsites units.

Senior Planning Engineer (SPL) is a part of the Project Control team in a construction site following the activities related to the control of the construction works, in compliance with established Project Master Schedule, and the promptly respect of all reporting documentation both to external and internal stakeholders.

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Develop Construction Schedule within the time extent already established in the Project Schedule;
  • Prepare the standard manhour estimate based on design quantities and the established WBS;
  • Feed Schedule with estimated standard Manhours to obtain Progress Curves and Manpower Histograms;
  • Ensure that the Detailed schedules developed by Subcontractors, as per their contractual obligations, are consistent with Level 4 Construction Schedule;
  • Perform schedule control at the cut-off dates and provide forecast on completion dates especially in a presence of any adverse trends so that effective recovery plan can be timely enforced;
  • Assess physical progress at the cut-off dates evidencing any deviations from the baseline and suggesting remedial actions, if any;
  • Perform manpower control by collecting time sheets from Subcontractors and comparing the actual manpower against the planned, as per baseline;
  • Prepare the weekly/monthly Progress Report related to the Site activities in accordance with the Project Procedures.

 

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • University Degree or Diploma in a relevant discipline or equivalent
  • Knowledge of CPM scheduling tool “Primavera” (P6)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with particular emphasis in the use of Excel tool (pivot table, formulas, graphs, etc)

 

Experience

  • Relevant experience in construction/modernisation of large Petrochemical plants/ EPC projects;
  • Strong subcontractors and construction/commissioning management experience in EPC project, Large/XL plants;
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the specific discipline;
  • Similar role covered in last three projects of comparable size;
  • Experience working on Contractor side.
