Job summary/Role description

The Project relates to execution of engineering, procurement of all equipment and materials, construction, and erection work for a new Delayed Coking Unit with coke handling and ship loading, Sour Water Stripper, Amine Recovery units and the revamping of Hydrocracker, Sulphur Recovery, and Utilities & Offsites units.

Site Project Control
ensures cost control within a project, under the supervision of the Project Control Manager or Project Control Coordinator, in compliance with quality requirements and Project Execution Plan Following Company standard methodology.

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • To assist Project Control Manager/Coordinator during the “Transfer Meeting” to endorse all back-up documentation prepared during the bidding phase;
  • To initialize the cost control tools as per the procedures;
  • To assist in preparing the cost control procedures for the project;
  • To prepare and maintain the cost control documents;
  • To perform the periodical control activities to assess the project forecasts in terms of revenues, costs, and profitability evidencing any deviations towards original/revised budgets;
  • To support the project team in performing the risk analysis to evaluate any costs impact and the effects on the contingencies allocation;
  • To support the contract manager in evaluating cost impact connected with both internal and external changes;
  • To prepare and release, upon Project Manager approval, the periodical reports (synthesis monthly report inclusive of risks and opportunities and cash flow, corporate budgets/revised budgets);
  • Assure that all field cost control activities are carried out according to stated procedures;
  • To provide feedback concerning problems arising from application of standard methods and work instruction to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the department;
  • To ensure technical specific improvement of the discipline.

 

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • University Degree or Diploma in a relevant discipline or equivalent.

 

Experience

  • Relevant experience in construction/modernisation of large Petrochemical plants/ EPC projects;
  • Strong subcontractors and construction/commissioning management experience in EPC project, Large/XL plants;
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the specific discipline;
  • Similar role covered in last three projects of comparable size;
  • Experience working on Contractor side.

  • Attention to details;
  • Self-motivation and direction, with a strong bias toward timely performance and problem resolution.
