Job summary/Role description

The Purchasing & Subcontracts Buyer is responsible of the purchasing activities of assigned Purchase Requisitions in compliance with the company procedures under the supervision of the Line Manager .

Duties and responsibilities

Following the guidelines provided by the Responsible, the Purchasing & Subcontracts Buyer has the following main responsibilities:

 

  • Process assigned Purchase Requisitions by the Line Manager;
  • Interface with internal Stakeholders (Project Team, Engineering, Proposal etc);
  • Organize and run tenders, under the supervision of the Line Manager;
  • Negotiate with Vendors best costs, service levels and contract terms;
  • Identify and propose cost savings opportunities;
  • Prepare and Issue Purchase Orders/Contracts and Master Agreements with suppliers in compliance with internal procedures and protocols and securing all required documentation/authorizations.
  • Expedite of Purchase Order acceptance by Vendors;
  • Support the Commercial team, when required, for market investigation and inquiry during proposal phase.
  • According to the complexity of activities managed and level of autonomy, the above-mentioned activities are assigned to Purchasing & Subcontracts Buyer.

Person Specification

Knowledge & Qualifications

·        University degree in a relevant discipline;

·        Sound knowledge of labour legislation;

·        Good planning skills;

Experience

  • 3-7-years' experience in a similar position;
  • Experience in the Oil & Gas, petrochemical, EPC sectors; main contractor;
  • Experience in procurement.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Good time management and organization skills
  • Advanced reporting and Microsoft Excel skills
  • Working knowledge of relevant legal regulations
  • Able to prioritize and multitask effectively
