Job
summary/Role description
|
The
Project relates to the implementation of a new Urea and UAN (Urea Ammonium
Nitrate solution) plant in Gemlik, 125 km south of Istanbul, Turkey.
The plant will have the capacity of 1,640 MTPD of Granular Urea and 500 MTPD
of UAN and will run on the market leading urea technology of Stamicarbon, a
fully owned subsidiary of the Maire Tecnimont Group. The Scope of Work
concerns the execution of engineering, supply of all equipment and materials
and construction and erection works.
Quality Inspector Mechanical (QCI) ensures the implementation of all the
quality procedures and standards in the appointed area /subcontractor. QCI is
responsible for performing inspections on subcontractor’s activities assuring
the conformity to site inspection plans and applicable engineering.

Duties and responsibilities
|
- To
ensure the implementation of all the Quality/HSE procedures and standards for
the areas or activities (subcontractors) of responsibilities, together with
the other members of Quality/HSE teams;
- To
support the Construction Material Controller in checking the Supplier’s
material prior to the start of works;
- To
address Subcontractor activities for his/her own discipline, ensuring that
Plant Construction works are performed according to the applicable
engineering specification, site procedures and Site Inspection Plan according
to Quality & Safety procedures, as well as according to the terms and
conditions of the subcontract;
- To
check that the manpower employed by the Subcontractor continuously respect
the requirements of applicable procedures and the Quality level fixed by the
same.
- To
check that the equipment employed by the Subcontractor are adequate and
calibrated as required according to applicable procedures and to the Quality
level fixed by the same
- To
check that the works performed by the Subcontractor conform to the applicable
documents, Safety regulations, and to the Quality level fixed by the same, in
coordination with the other members of Quality/HSE teams;
- To
inform the Site Engineer to make the necessary changes when detects any
design errors;
- To
promote the non-conformity draft and informs the Construction Quality
Manager, supporting him/her in the nonconformity resolution;
- Keeping
the Construction Quality Manager informed, receive the Request of Inspection
from Subcontractors and confirm to proceed with the inspection informing the
Client, assume the responsibility in case of Client’s (motivated) rejection
of the inspection taking care of remedial action and avoiding the repetition
of similar case in future.

Knowledge & Qualifications
|
- University
Degree or Diploma in in Instrumentation/Automation is preferable.
|
Experience
|
- Relevant
experience in construction/modernisation of large Petrochemical plants/ EPC
projects;
- Minimum
5 years’ experience in the specific discipline;
- Similar
role covered in last three projects of comparable size;
- Experience
working on Contractor side.
