Job summary/Role description

The Purchasing Senior Buyer is responsible of all the purchasing activities of the assigned area of commodities (i.e.: Machinery and Packages, Static Equipment, E&I and Piping Material), in compliance with Corporate and Projects procedures and under the supervision of Purchasing Group Leader.

 

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • To identify and suggest the update of vendor lists with Vendors deemed competitive.

  • To analyses and monitor raw materials and man hours market costs, pertaining to his/her commodity area.

  • To propose to the Purchasing Coordinator/Head of Purchasing strategies of purchasing in order to reach always more competitive conditions.

  •  To carry out all the purchasing activities, according to the indications and guidelines of Purchasing Coordinator/Head of Purchasing,

  • Issue of Economical Evaluation to Project Teams.

  •  Cooperate with Project Teams in highlighting main reasons of eventual extra budgets and proposing mitigation actions.

  •  Issue of Purchase Orders and following Amendments.

  •  Expediting of Purchase Order acceptance by Vendors

  •   To support Project Procurement Coordinators during the development of the supplies in case of any commercial problem.

  • Coordinate and execute the procurement process, including issuing purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and managing supplier invoices.

  • Optimize procurement processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs while maintaining quality standards.

  • Collaborate with legal and contract management teams to draft and execute supplier contracts.

  • Monitor contract performance, renewal dates, and initiate contract amendments or terminations as necessary.

Person Specification

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • University degree in a relevant discipline.

  • Good planning skills.

Experience

  • 5-8-year experience in a similar position.

  • Experience in the Oil & Gas, petrochemical, EPC sectors; main contractor.

  • Proficiency of Procurement IT Tools (e.g., SAP, ARIBA etc.)
