Job summary/Role description

  • The Vendor Management Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the effective management and coordination of vendors and suppliers within the organization. This role involves developing and maintaining relationships with vendors, monitoring vendor performance, and implementing strategies to optimize vendor selection and engagement.

  • Managing supplier information within the accreditation process in the company's registry.

 

 

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Identify potential vendors based on the organization's needs and requirements.

  • Evaluate vendor capabilities, including product quality, pricing, delivery terms, and service level agreements.

  • Conduct vendor assessments and due diligence to ensure compliance with company policies and standards.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess vendor performance and provide recommendations for vendor selection

  • To upload the information provided by Suppliers or collected by the Functions involved in the accreditation process onto dedicated information tools.

  • Update the Supplier's status based on the results of the accreditation process.

  • Conduct anti-terrorism checks (Terrcheck) on existing and potential Suppliers.

  • Process promptly the requests of candidate Suppliers collected in the dedicated Outlook mailbox, "Mail Procurement."

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key vendors, fostering open communication and collaboration.

  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements with vendors to achieve cost savings and favorable terms.

  • Regularly review vendor performance against established metrics and service level agreements.

  • Address vendor concerns, resolve conflicts, and escalate issues when necessary.

Person Specification

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • University degree in a relevant discipline.

  • Good planning skills.

 

Experience

  •  5-10-year experience in a similar position;

  •  Experience in the Oil & Gas, petrochemical, EPC sectors; main contractor.

  •  Proficiency of Procurement IT Tools (e.g., SAP, ARIBA etc.)
