Job summary/Role description

  • The BIM Coordinator (Civil/Building) plays a critical role in coordinating Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes and workflows for civil and building projects within an EPC environment in the oil and gas sector.

  • Managing BIM models, ensuring their accuracy, and facilitating collaboration among various stakeholders to optimize project outcomes

 

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the development, maintenance, and coordination of BIM models for civil and building projects.

  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among multidisciplinary teams including architects, engineers, designers, contractors, and clients to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of BIM processes.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, guidelines, and best practices related to BIM, including relevant codes, regulations, and project specifications.

  • Conduct regular quality checks and reviews of BIM models to verify accuracy, consistency, and completeness, addressing any discrepancies or issues promptly.

  • Assist in the implementation and integration of BIM methodologies, technologies, and tools to improve project efficiency, productivity, and decision-making processes.

  • Generate and maintain documentation, reports, and progress updates related to BIM activities.

  • Provide guidance, training, and support to project teams on BIM-related software, workflows, and best practices to enhance proficiency and ensure smooth project execution.

  • Stay updated with the latest trends, developments, and advancements in BIM technologies and methodologies, suggesting and implementing innovative solutions to enhance project outcomes.

Person Specification

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.

  • Proficiency in BIM software such as Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and other relevant tools.

Experience

  • 15  Years+ of relevant experience in EPC projects within the oil , gas & Petrochemical industry.

  • Certifications in BIM-related disciplines can be advantageous (e.g., BIM Certification).

  • Attention to detail, management skills

  • Team-oriented skills,  self-motivation and direction, with strong bias toward timely performance and problem resolution

  • Strong understanding of construction processes, building codes, and industry standards.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
