Job summary/Role description

TM and TM Arabia Limited have been awarded two lump-sum turn-key EPC contracts related to a petrochemical expansion at the SATORP Refinery (a JV composed of Saudi Aramco and TotalEnergies), in Jubail, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The overall value of the contracts is approximately USD 2 billion. The contracts relate to the execution of two packages of the complex, namely the “Derivatives Units” package - which includes a butadiene extraction unit, an olefin extraction unit, a methyl tert-butyl ether unit, a butadiene selective hydrogenation unit, a 2nd stage pygas hydrogenation unit and benzene & toluene extraction unit - and the “High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) & Logistic Area” package, which includes two polyethylene units and the relevant product logistic facilities..

The project’s scope of work entails complete engineering services, equipment and material supply, construction activities, pre-commissioning, and commissioning, and shall have a duration of approximately 4 years.

Quality Manager is responsible for keeping relations with Partners and Client to ensure that QA/QC Plan and procedures are correctly applied, verify the uniformity and coordination and ensure uniformity and coherence.

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • To ensure Site Quality Plan preparation, its adequacy and application at Site, arranging any reviews, if required;
  • To verify NDT, Welding Inspectors and quality control site team activities;
  • To ensure the proper preparation of the test, inspection reports and books;
  • To review Subcontractors’ site Quality System, Quality Organization and procedures.
  • To check the flow of information and documents;
  • To identify any organizational or procedural defect, analysing critical points, arranging any corrective action together with the Site Manager and informing Head Office Construction Department Manager and Project Quality Manager accordingly;
  • To plan and perform periodical Audit on Subcontractors activities;
  • To prepare his own section of Monthly report.

 

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • University Degree or Diploma in a relevant discipline or equivalent

 

Experience

  • Relevant experience in construction/modernization of large Petrochemical plants/ EPC projects;
  • Strong subcontractors and construction/commissioning management experience in EPC project, Large/XL plants;
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the specific discipline.
  • Previous experience with the same client will be more suitable
  • Similar role covered in last three projects of comparable size;
  • Experience working on Contractor side.
