Job summary/Role description

Commissioning Machinery Supervisor, CMS executes the activities pertaining to the pre-commissioning and commissioning of the unit in compliance with the quality requirements, health/environmental/safety regulations, and following the stated procedures.

 

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • To develop the detailed pre-commissioning procedures for Machinery & Packages, procedures for the functional tests of the machineries according to the instructions of Commissioning Machinery Superintendent.

  • To field check the DAC and prepare relevant Commissioning punch list, following the CME instructions.

  • Expediting closing of pending Punch List Items in accordance with Commissioning Superintendent (COT) priorities; Monitor and ensure the activities are carried out in accordance with the procedures and requirements.

  • Ensure all safety rules are in force and are followed in field.

  • Supervise the works of vendors’ specialists and ensure their efficient utilization.

  • To organize and manage the operations in field of the assigned team from the Sub

  • Contractor by controlling their job and the implementation of Plant Safety procedures in case of emergency.

  • Support the Vendors specialists in the execution of the job and coordinate their actions with the Commissioning supervisors.

  • Supervise the works of vendors’ specialists and ensure their efficient utilization.

  • To keep records of all activities performed in the log book

  • To produce the certificates, duly signed by the involved parties, and handover to

  • certification engineer (QA/QC).

  • Responsible for ongoing maintenance (planned and corrective maintenance on Plant Units already in Operation) in accordance with Commissioning Superintendent (COT) and Commissioning Machinery Superintendent (CMT) priorities

  • Can be the authorized person designated by the site manager to receive or issue a Permit To Work according to the project Permit To Work Procedure

Person Specification

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • University Degree or Diploma in relevant discipline or equivalent

Experience

  • Relevant experience in construction/modernisation of large Petrochemical plants/ EPC projects;

  • Good understanding of mechanical, electrical and plumbing drawings;

  • Strong subcontractors and construction/commissioning management experience in EPC project, Large/XL plants;

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the specific discipline;

  • Similar role covered in last three projects, of comparable size;

  • Experience working on Contractor side.

  • Fluent English;

  • Excellent IT and analytical skills;

  • Excellent communications, team-oriented and interpersonal skills;

  • Attention to details;

  • Self-motivation and direction, with a strong bias toward timely performance and problem resolution.
