Job summary/Role description

The project related to Commissioning services for a new propane dehydrogenation (PDH) plant, including the requisite Utilities and Interconnections. The new facility, located at an existing Borealis production site in Kallo, Belgium, will have a targeted production capacity of 750,000 metric tonnes per year, making it one of the largest and most efficient in the world.


Commissioning Supervisor, COS executes the activities pertaining to the commissioning of an entire unit of the Plant.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Take part in the development of detailed Utilities commissioning procedures.
  • Field check the Discipline Acceptance Certificate (DAC) and prepare relevant Commissioning punch lists.
  • Assure that all activities in the Utilities Area (Nitrogen Generation, Air Dryers, Tank Farms, Water Treatment) are duly performed in accordance with the stated procedures, in conformity with the safety rules.
  • Organize and manage the Sub-Contractor works following the working and safety procedures;
  • Support the Vendor specialists in the execution of the job and coordinate their actions with the Commissioning supervisors;
  • Keep records of all activities in the logbook;
  • Produce the certificates, duly signed by the involved parties, and handover to certification engineer (QA/QC).

Person Specification

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • University Degree or Diploma in relevant discipline or equivalent.

Experience

·        Similar role covered at least in last three projects of comparable size;

·        Experience in Propane dehydrogenation (PDH) plant is mandatory;

·        Experience in commissioning of Reactors and Continuous catalyst regeneration;

·        Experience in commissioning Inside Battery Limits;

·        Relevant experience in Commissioning Petrochemical sector/EPC projects large PDH plants;

·        At least 3 years of experience in the specific discipline;

·        Experience working on Contractor side.

·        Fluent English;

·        Excellent IT and analytical skills;

·        Excellent communications, team-oriented and interpersonal skills;

·        Attention to details;

·        Self-motivation and direction, with a strong bias toward timely performance and problem resolution.
