Job summary/Role description

The Construction Quality Control Inspector – Structures is responsible for ensuring the adherence to quality procedures and standards for structural projects. The role requires thorough inspections of structural work and subcontractor activities to ensure compliance with inspection plans and structural engineering principles.  

 

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Oversee the implementation of all quality and HSE procedures and standards related to structural work, collaborating with Quality/HSE teams.

 

  • Assist the Construction Material Controller in examining the structural materials supplied prior to the start of construction activities.

 

  • Ensure that the workforce employed by the subcontractor consistently meets the structural quality requirements and adheres to safety standards.

 

  • Ensure that the workforce employed by subcontractors maintains the quality standards for structural work as per applicable procedures.

 

 

  • Verify that all equipment used in structural construction is adequate and calibrated in accordance with regulatory requirements and quality benchmarks.

 

  • Confirm that structural works are performed in compliance with the relevant documents, safety regulations, and quality standards, in collaboration with the Quality / HSE teams.

 

  • Notify the Site Engineer to enact necessary changes upon detecting any structural design errors.

 

  • Draft and manage non-conformity reports related to structural integrity, inform the Construction Quality Manager, and support in resolution processes.

 

  • Maintain open communication with the Construction Quality Manager, handle Inspection Requests from subcontractors, and ensure all structural inspections meet client expectations.

 

  • Take proactive measures in case of any client-motivated rejections by implementing corrective actions and preventing similar future occurrences.

 

  • Report directly to the Construction Quality Manager regarding all structural quality control activities.

 

 

 

Person Specification

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • University degree or diploma in relevant discipline or equivalent.

Experience

  • Extensive experience in the industrial construction of large scale or extra-large (XL) gas plants.

  • Previous engagement in a similar capacity for at least 2-3 projects of comparable size.

  • A minimum of 10-12 years in a similar role within oil & gas industry.
