Job summary/Role description

PTW reports to Construction Supervisor and is responsible for the coordination of the work permits on the project.

 

 

Duties and responsibilities
  • Effectively integrate Permit-To-Work system into the project;
  • Participate in PTW meetings along with the operations and maintenance supervisors;
  • Assess work permits raised to determine whether all the required information has been provided with permit to required standard and accordingly liaise with various departments;
  • Actively involve & contribute to the Risk assessment for critical jobs and job safety analysis for ensuring HSE standards are met;
  • Ensure that all the control measure’s as per Job Safety Analysis have been put in place prior to allowing a work permit to go live;
  • Ensure that all necessary preparation procedures and standing instruction are followed while the equipment is made ready for safe maintenance intervention;
  • Audit work permits for correct implementation with regards to recommended controls for safe working conditions;
  • Ensure that adequate handovers take a place at shift change/ crew change out of area with regard to job status;
  • Conduct site inspections, particularly high-risk activities that should be checked daily for adherence to PTW requirements;
  • Monitor and verify the effectiveness of the implementation and execution of the Permit-To-Work system;
  • Ensure timely registration of permits to avoid delays.

 

 

Person Specification

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • University Degree or Diploma in relevant discipline or equivalent

Experience

  • Relevant experience in construction/modernisation of industrial/Refinery sector/EPC projects large plants;

  • At least 3 years of experience in the specific discipline;

  • Experience working on Contractor side.

Skills and Abilities

  • Fluent English;

  • Excellent communications, team-oriented and interpersonal skills;

  • Attention to details;

  • Self-motivation and direction, with a strong bias toward timely performance and problem resolution.
