We are looking for talented and brilliant Instrumentation Superintendent in our expanding Permanent Staff that will take part in a long-term development path with MAIRE group full of thriving opportunities

Job Description/Role Summary

The Instrumentation Superintendent has the responsibility to coordinate the Instrumental Maintenance activities of the Plant, including Utilities and Offsite Equipment.

Duties and responsibilities

  • To receive the work orders relative to the Instrument maintenance, to arrange for the pertinent teams, material and tools to carry out the job, strictly under PTW procedure.
  • To ensure that Maintenance resources, subcontractors and vendors are available and fit to the task.
  • To ensure that spares are ready at hand and staff has been briefed on the task expected.
  • Raise a risk assessment case when further Safety investigations are advisable.
  • To strictly follow the OES (original equipment supplier/manufacturer) instructions on maintenance and servicing of the instrumentation and control system. To ensure the presence of the vendor when required.
  • To ensure that the equipment to be maintained has been mechanically, electrically and process isolated, instructing the teams to post the pertinent warnings on the equipment.
  • To ensure the HSE presence as applicable from the PTW.
  • To ensure that the working team issues an exhaustive report about the job carried out for CMMS purposes.
  • To ensure to respect the timing provided for the job, reporting eventual delays and deviations.
  • To monitor the frequency of failures on similar equipment, reporting eventual discrepancies.
  • To ensure that clear communication is passed to the users for end of Maintenance Job and equipment ready to be commissioned.
  • To contribute to raise the yearly budget as required, cooperating with Maintenance Engineering and Material Specialist for its finalization.
  • To actively follow the Instrument W/S to be adequately equipped and resource like fit to the purpose.
  • To Maintain the testing and calibrating equipment in good working order.
  • To check that all Instrument metrological equipment is fit to the purpose and ready for use and that the same are consistent and licensed by the local Authorities.
  • Check the record of the Instrument loop pre-commissioning to guarantee the consistency with the causes and effect matrix.
  • Check that the DCS has specialists fit to the purpose and that dedicated logbook are raised to record the shutdown inhibition raised for maintenance purposes.
  • To make sure that all instrument crews have received the right HSE training.

  • Regularly check the material/spares availability, taking into consideration the use, delivery time, and expiring frequency of sensors and perishable electronic cards.
