Job summary/Role description

The Buyer is responsible of all the purchasing activities related to  Operation and Maintenance(e.g. Spare parts for Machinery and Packages, Static Equipment, E&I and Piping Material), in compliance with Corporate and Projects procedures and under the supervision of Procurement Manager.

As Post Order, he manages and monitors all the post order activities (expediting, inspection and logistics) for the assigned Operation and Maintenance project, to ensure the achievement of the defined results in terms of schedule, quality and budget.

 

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • To identify and suggest the update of vendor lists with Vendors fit for Operation and Maintenance needs.
  • To analyze and monitor raw materials and man hours market costs, pertaining to his/her commodity area.
  • To propose to the Procurement Manager strategies of purchasing to reach always more competitive conditions.
  • To carry out all the purchasing activities, according to the indications and guidelines of Procurement Manager, such as:
    • Float of inquiries.
    • Economical and contractual negotiations.
    • Issue of Economical Evaluation to Operation and Maintenance Management.
    • Cooperate with Operation and Maintenance Management in highlighting main reasons of eventual extra budgets and proposing mitigation actions.
    • Issue of Purchase Orders and following Amendments.
    • Expediting of Purchase Order acceptance by Vendors.
    • To support Procurement Operator during the development of the supplies in case of any commercial problem.
  • Responsible for the integrated management of the post order-related activities (i.e. expediting, inspection and logistics) for the assigned project/projects, ensuring the compliance with contractual requirements in terms of time, costs and quality, following Project Procurement Manager instructions.
  • Responsible for planning and monitoring post order activities on the project, in close coordination with the Procurement Manager.
  • Operates in strict coordination with Discipline Leaders, the Engineering Manager, the Planning and Cost Control Manager, the Contract Administrator and the Site Manager assuring uniformity with the other parts of the project, in compliance with contractual requirements in terms of costs, time and quality of the supplies, following Procurement Coordinator Leader instructions.
