Job summary/Role description

He/She is responsible of the activities pertaining to the discipline within a project, in compliance with the assigned budget, the project schedule and the technical requirements, assuring as well cost optimization. The Project Leader leads a group of specialists and/or engineers appointed to the project by the Head of Department and reports to the Project Engineering Manager for the peculiarities of the project and to the Head of Department for the management of the resources and the quality of the work.

 

 

Duties and responsibilities

During the execution of a project, his/her duties are:

 

  • To prepare and discuss with the Project Team (PD/PM and PEM) and the Head of Department the execution strategy of the project (including the project schedule) and assure its application throughout the entire project life. For specific topics involving high level of expertise, Project Leader is assisted by Group Leaders.

 

  • To cooperate and coordinate with the Project Engineering Manager and the other Project Leaders to create and maintain the project procedures and ensure their application in conformity with general department guidelines and applicable standards;

 

  • To ensure the coordination of the activities of the discipline regardless the location and distribution of the engineering centers, guaranteeing the consistency of the documents with the contract, the respect of the time schedule, the implementation of the contract requirements, the compliance of the assigned budget (both cost and man-hours) and the quality of the deliverables under the guidance of the Project Engineering Manager and cooperating with the other Project Lead Engineers;

 

  • To interact with Client representatives and Vendors for all the technical topics concerning the discipline which impact on the project both in time and costs;

 

  • To guarantee assistance to the inspection and construction departments upon request and in accordance to project needs. As a member of the department, the duties of Project Leader are:

 

  • To provide feedback to the Head of Department concerning problems arising from application of both specific and standard methods and work instructions to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the department;

 

  • To conduct technical training as per department and Company needs and exchange experience with colleagues of the entire Maire Tecnimont Group for new Design techniques;

 

  • To keep himself up-to-date about the technical specific improvement of the discipline.

 

 

Person Specification

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • University degree or diploma in relevant discipline or equivalent.

Experience

  • Significant experience in the industrial construction of large or XL gas plants.

  • Covered a similar role in at least 2-3 projects of comparable size.

  • A minimum of 12-18 years of relevant experience.
