Job summary/Role description

TM and TM Arabia Limited have been awarded two lump-sum turn-key EPC contracts related to a petrochemical expansion at the SATORP Refinery (a JV composed of Saudi Aramco and Total Energies), in Jubail, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

.

The overall value of the contracts is approximately USD 2 billion. The contracts relate to the execution of two packages of the complex, namely the “Derivatives Units” package - which includes a butadiene extraction unit, an olefin extraction unit, a methyl tert-butyl ether unit, a butadiene selective hydrogenation unit, a 2nd stage pygas hydrogenation unit and benzene & toluene extraction unit - and the “High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) & Logistic Area” package, which includes two polyethylene units and the relevant product logistic facilities.

 

The project’s scope of work entails complete engineering services, equipment and material supply, construction activities, pre-commissioning, and commissioning.

 

The Prefabrication Painting & Corrosion Inspector (PCI) verifies that the painting cycles have been correctly performed according to the painting specifications prepared by the relevant engineering department and the inspection test plans.

 

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • To check that painting products respects the requirements of painting specifications.
  • To participate to trial test (Mock-Up) and subsequent inspection for various painting systems according to the painting specification and the Inspection Test Plan
  • To participate to the Subcontractor painter qualification process
  • To check that painting products are preserved according to the requirements of painting specifications.
  • To check the application process, in particular the following phases:
    • Environment condition
    • Steel preparation
    • Surface preparation
    • Residual salts and dust
    • Surface profile
    • Application process including stripe and full coating.
    • Overcoating and curing time
    • Dry film thickness per each layer and as total
    • Adhesion test
    • Holiday detection
  • To countersign the Inspection QC forms
  • To obtain any necessary approval for changing, as appropriate, painting procedures and for performing repairs requiring special procedures.

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • University degree or diploma in relevant discipline or equivalent.
  • NACE Level II Critical Coating Certification.
  • CSWIP Level II Certification or Equivalent.

Experience

  • Significant experience in the industrial construction of large or XL gas plants.
  • Covered a similar role in at least 2-3 projects of comparable size.
  • A minimum of 10-15 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience working on the Contractor side
