Job summary/Role description

  • Commissioning Machinery Supervisor executes the activities pertaining to the pre-commissioning and commissioning of the plant.

  • He/she operates in compliance with the quality requirements, health/environmental/safety regulations and following the stated procedures.

  • He/she reports to the Commissioning Machinery Superintendent (CMT).

  • He/she is assigned to the Project by AVIMP Head of Department.

 

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • To develop the detailed pre-commissioning procedures for Machinery & Packages, procedures for the functional tests of the machineries according to the instructions of Commissioning Machinery Superintendent.

  • To field check the DAC and prepare relevant Commissioning punch list, following the CME instructions.

  • Expediting closing of pending Punch List Items in accordance with Commissioning Superintendent (COT) priorities.

  • Monitor and ensure the activities are carried out in accordance with the procedures and requirements.

  • Ensure all safety rules are in force and are followed in field.

  • Supervise the works of vendors’ specialists and ensure their efficient utilization.

  • To organize and manage the operations in field of the assigned team from the Subcontractor by controlling their job and the implementation of Plant Safety procedures in case of emergency.

  • Support the Vendors specialists in the execution of the job and coordinate their actions with the Commissioning supervisors.

  • Supervise the works of vendors’ specialists and ensure their efficient utilization.

  • To keep records of all activities performed in the logbook.

  • To produce the certificates, duly signed by the involved parties, and handover to certification engineer (QA/QC).

  • Responsible for ongoing maintenance (planned and corrective maintenance on Plant Units already in Operation) in accordance with Commissioning Superintendent (COT) and Commissioning Machinery Superintendent (CMT) priorities.

  • Can be the authorized person designated by the site manager to receive or issue a Permit to work according to the project Permit to work procedure.

Person Specification

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • University Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years work experience.
  • Significant experience in a similar position on EPC Oil & Gas projects/Refinery.

  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.

  • Attention to detail, management skills.

  • Team-oriented skills, self-motivation and direction, with strong bias toward timely performance and problem resolution.
