Job summary/Role description

The Senior Planning Engineer execute the activities pertaining to planning / reporting within a project, under the supervision of the Project Control Coordinator (or Project Control Manager), in compliance with quality requirements and Project Execution Plan, WBS and Schedules.

Prepares the project control documents (Milestones Plan, Project Summary Schedules, 90 days Schedule, WBS, Project Detailed Schedule, Baseline Schedule, Progress Curves, Reporting) of competence in compliance with the project requirements under the supervision of the Project Control Manager/Coordinator

 

 

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Review all planning reports, outputs and presentations.
  • Performs the periodical schedule control by means of time now technique, assess physical progress of the project and forecast the predicted completion evidencing any deviations towards the approved baselines.
  • Supports the Project Team in performing the Risk Analysis by running the appropriate company software to determine the schedule reliability.
  • Interacts with all the relevant Company Departments, Client and Vendors representatives for the topics of competence.
  • Trains and supports Junior Planning Engineers in initializing the project control tools as per the procedures.
  • Manages the planning activities even without direct supervision in case of small size EPC project.
  • Demonstrates strong written and oral communication skills, including the editing, oversight or preparation of technical reports and the presentation of information to Top Management and various committees.
  • Analyzes project risks and develop mitigation plans.
  • Updates and maintains accurate updated schedule, progress statistics, S curves and prepare forecasts of trends.
  • Acts as a focal point for engineering discipline leads regarding scheduling and progress issues.
  • Be particularly diligent in recognizing and reporting to Project Management potential problems in all phases of the project.
  • Contribute to the change management process, analyzing and reporting schedule impacts to the project.
  • Understands all relevant documentation pertaining to the project including scope of services, conditions of contract, project execution plan, etc.
  • Assists management in Decision Making and Perform any other support functions as directed by the Management.

 

 

 

Person Specification

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • University degree or diploma in relevant discipline or equivalent.
  • Certified in Primavera P6

 

Experience

  • Significant experience in the industrial construction of large or XL gas plants.
  • Covered a similar role in at least 2-3 projects of comparable size.
  • A minimum of 12-18 years of relevant experience.
