Prerequisites: - Candidates for a joint-specific, non-metallic piping construction Inspector certification, shall meet the following requirement: -

Completed Certification as Installer, for the same jointing system as the intended Inspector certification.

Course requirements: - The Inspector Certification program shall include technical and practical session of the following topics: -

• Inspector duties and responsibilities
• Inspection of received goods.
• Inspection before, during and after assembly of main joint types.
• Inspection of support.
• Inspection of repair.
• Hydrostatic testing.
• Written procedures, documentation and reporting.

Validity and Extension: - The Inspector certification shall be initially valid for 12 months and shall be extended for additional 12 months by providing evidence of relevant work experience within the validity timeframe: or by completing a refresher course within no more than 6 months after the expiration date. The Refresher course shall be conducted by the pipe manufacturer of certification agent.

 Knowledge & Qualifications

• Relevant education or certificate demonstrating skills to perform as a pipe inspector.

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience in pipeline inspector.
• RTR and HDPE piping installers shall be trained and qualified in accordance with RTR and HDPE manufacturer’s requirements and SAEP -407.
