Job summary/Role description

  • Civil / Buildings Engineer (Underground) ensures effective technical coordination between the home office and subcontractors, focusing on managing site updates, documentation, and approvals, while providing on-site support during the construction phase to address technical queries and keep the project on track.

 

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Technical coordination between home office and site and the various sub-contractors.
  • Controlling and handling of site UG engineering updates, to minimize the impacts on timing and cost of the project.
  • Timely reply to site technical queries raised by the construction sub-contractor’s team.
  • Approve MAR (Material Approval Request) submitted by sub-contractor.
  • Review of subcontractor's isometric drawings for gravity network.
  • Review of sub-contractor’s shop drawings (for e.g. gratings for trenches, manhole covers etc.).
  • Attending coordination and technical resolution meetings.
  • Preparation of local purchase request (LPR) for any shortage of materials (like pipes, flanges etc.) or delay due to shipping.
  • Responding to interference queries (IQ's) with client and other contractors.
  • Supporting construction team for the confirmation of as-built drawings/red markup drawings.

Person Specification

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering.

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years work experience.
  • Significant experience in a similar position on EPC Oil & Gas projects / Refinery.

  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.

  • Team-oriented skills, self-motivation and direction, with strong bias toward timely performance and problem resolution.
