Job summary/Role description

  • Report to the Site Manager

  • The Construction manager coordinates all Discipline Supervisors in managing Subcontractor’s activities. In particular, she/he updates and develops detailed Construction schedules, optimizing sequences and limiting any overlapping. She/he replaces the Site Manager in the latter’s absence.

 

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Ensure the implementation of the HSE management system at site with particular reference to their area of operation.

  • Organize and lead, along with the relevant AST and Superintendent/Supervisors, weekly meetings with the Subcontractors of each discipline.

  • Participate to construction meeting with the Client.

  • With the collaboration of the Site Control Manager, prepare a detailed schedule and define priorities and promote field revisions considering the Construction Schedule and promoting recovery plans in case of delay;

  • Verify congruence of the works with technical specification.

  • Verify material delivery schedule in order to coordinate construction activities and optimize the schedule.

  • Ensure, with the Commissioning Manager, the congruence between the completion of Construction and Plant Pre-commissioning.

  • Collaborate with the Contract department arranging claims.

  • Perform discipline quality inspection according to the Inspection Plan and procedures in liaison with the Quality Assurance Engineer.

 

 

Person Specification

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.

Experience

  • At least 20 years of relevant experience in industrial construction, specifically large -or extra-large scale gas plant projects.

  • Held a similar leadership role on a minimum of 2 to 3 projects comparable scale and complexity.

  • Strong exposure to EPC contractor environments.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.

  • Proficient in coordinating multidisciplinary construction teams and subcontractors.

  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills to manage client and team relations.

  • High attention to detail and a proactive approach to risk management and problem solving.

  • Strong time management skills with a track record of meeting project deadlines.

  • Familiarity with construction management tools and software is a plus.
