Job summary/Role description

The Building Mechanical & Plumbing Systems Engineer (HVAC Engineer) is responsible for managing subcontractors and overseeing the installation, maintenance, and optimization of HVAC and plumbing systems within the project scope. This role ensures that all work is performed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance, while adhering to project schedules and budget constraints.

 

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Manage subcontractors responsible for mechanical (including HVAC and equipment) and plumbing works.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance in terms of schedule, quality, and cost.
  • Coordinate necessary recovery actions when deviations from schedule or specifications are detected.
  • Review and approve Method Statements submitted by subcontractors before work begins, ensuring their correct application in the field.
  • Ensure subcontractor performance is closely monitored.
  • Ensure implementation of all HSE procedures and standards for areas or activities under responsibility.
  • Manage vendor specialists and coordinate their activities with site operations.
  • Ensure that subcontractor equipment and manpower are adequate and that works performed conform to design documents, safety regulations, and quality standards.

 

 

 

Person Specification

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • University degree or diploma in relevant discipline or equivalent.

Experience

  • Significant experience in the industrial construction of large or XL gas plants.
  • Covered a similar role in at least 2-3 projects of comparable size.
  • A minimum of 10-12 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience working on the Contractor side.
