Job summary/Role description

Nextchem S.p.A. is the Maire’s company dedicated to Sustainable Technology Solutions. Thanks to the extensive know-how of nitrogen, hydrogen, carbon capture, fuels, chemicals, and polymers, we offer innovative solutions and processes to fully enable the energy transition.

We are looking for a Business Development Manager with the mission to Increase sales opportunities, grow business and prospect for new clients by locating, developing, defining, negotiating and closing business relationships, in close coordination with the reference head of Commercial and in full compliance with the Group guidelines in our Region in Middle East. As a Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of our STS initiatives. This role involves actively screening fast-changing markets, understanding new business paradigms, cultivating relationships with potential clients and securing new contracts to propel NextChem forward.

 

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Contribute to defining and implement the business development strategy and sales activities in collaboration with the Head of Department and Product Manager.

  • Execute the strategy through a comprehensive action plan involving sister company within the MAIRE Group when necessary.

  • Identify and originate new business opportunities, collaborating with relevant sister companies when needed.

  • Proactively develop and maintain relationships with prospective clients, fostering strong connections within the industry.

  • Work closely with Proposal Managers to ensure the proper fulfilment of RFI, RFQ, in compliance with company procedures, to fulfil client requirements, preparing and submitting compelling proposals.

  • Support the negotiation, along with the legal department, of contract terms with clients and/or partners.

  • Collaborate with Business Innovation Technology (BIT) to identify, industrialize, and integrate new competitive technologies.

  • Implement and maintain business intelligence, collaborating with the Business Analyst.

  • Prepare and update internal reporting tools and business presentations, keeping stakeholders informed and engaged.

  • Participate in International Convention, Workshop, Panels about Sustainable Technology Solutions.

 

 

 

Person Specification

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in chemical engineering.
  • At least 18 years of proven professional experience in chemical or Oil&Gas, with exposure to sustainability initiatives and energy transition projects.
  • Good knowledge of the energy transition streams, international regulations of countries in scope.
  • Familiarity with sustainable technologies and related market dynamics and main players.
  • International business acumen and knowledge of geo-political trends.
  • Familiarity with the project development lifecycle, from origination to commercial operations.

Experience

  • A minimum of 18 years of relevant experience.

Skills and Abilities

  • Fluent in English, any other language would be a plus.

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and good analytical skills.

  • Technical and commercial drive.

  • Team-oriented, self-motivated and open-minded, with a strong bias toward timely performance and problem resolution.

  • Attention to detail, strong communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Willingness to travel in Europe and abroad, even with short notice.
