Job summary/Role description
|
- Food
Hygienist to join a large-scale construction project in the oil and gas
sector located in a remote site in the UAE.
- The ideal
candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food
safety and hygiene, in compliance with local and international
regulations, and promoting healthy eating habits among the workforce.

Duties and responsibilities
|
Food Safety and Hygiene Management:
Implement and maintain food
safety standards in accordance with HACCP principles. Conduct
regular inspections, evaluations, and audits of food preparation and serving
areas. Ensure
compliance with local and international food safety regulations.
Collaboration and Coordination:
Work
closely with suppliers and clients on all aspects of food preparation from
ingredient selection to storage, preparation, cooking, and serving. Provide
input on bromatological and nutritional aspects of food.
Health and Safety:
Conduct inspections and
support analyses, including water quality testing for human consumption. Promote
healthy eating habits and ensure the safe preparation and presentation of
food.
Training and Development:
Working Conditions
- The role will be based at the construction site,
accommodation camps, and supplier facilities in remote locations.
- The candidate must be willing to travel and
work in a remote setting.

Specification
|
Knowledge & Qualifications
|
Bachelor's
Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field. Certification
in HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points). Additional
certifications in food safety and hygiene (e.g., ISO 22000, ServSafe).
|
Experience
|
Minimum
of 10 years of experience in food safety and hygiene, preferably in the oil
and gas sector or remote site operations. Proven
experience in conducting food safety inspections, evaluations, and audits.
|
Skills and Abilities
|
In-depth
knowledge of local and international food safety standards and regulations. Strong
analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills. Ability
to work in remote and challenging environments.
