About the project/Role description

The project is planning the expansion of the existing Hamburg Refinery, by adding the following process units and facilities: HVO Unit, pre-treatment Unit, tank farm balance (tanks partially supplied by others), interconnecting lines, new electrical substation and rack room, interconnecting cables between new substation building and existing substation and control room.

The Quality Inspector reports to the Site Quality Manager. He checks and guarantees that certificates are available and duly collected for his own discipline; moreover, he promotes any necessary action to ensure that the final dossier is ready and completed according to QCP and contractual requirements.

Duties and responsibilities

  • To manage RFI from Contractor’s QC dpt and to Owner’s QC dpt

  • To carry on Inspection and signing QCF together with Contractor’s QC dpt and to Owner’s QC dpt

  • To monitor the correct drafting of certification documents and check that they are duly issued and filed.

  • To keep available at any time Inspection Status, i.e.: QCF issued, QCF missing (according QCP)

  • To coordinate the treatment of both supplies and construction non-conformities and supervising their resolution.

  • To identify any lack or incongruence in the certification of works and supplies, arranging any corrective action with the Supervisors and Material Controller.

  • To prepare and update Site Quality Indices.

  • To co-ordinate the preparation of the certification dossier according to the established Quality criteria.

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • University Degree or Diploma in relevant discipline or equivalent

Experience

  • Similar role covered at least in last three projects of comparable size;
  • Relevant experience in construction/modernisation of industrial/Refinery sector/EPC projects large plants;
  • At least 5 years of experience in the specific discipline;
  • Experience working on Contractor side.

  • Excellent communications, team-oriented and interpersonal skills;
  • Attention to details;
  • Self-motivation and direction, with a strong bias toward timely performance and problem resolution.
