Job summary/Role description
|
To Execute the
Instrumental Construction activities of the Plant, including
Utilities and Offsite Equipment.
|
|
|
Duties and responsibilities
|
- Prior to the start of works, to check the Supplier’s
material and technical documentation delivery schedule.
- Check that the same is in line with Construction schedules
and contractual commitments
- Prior to the start of works, control and approve the Method
Statements submitted by the Subcontractors, ensuring their correct
application on the field.
- To ensures the implementation of all the HSE procedures and
standards for the areas or activities
- To ensure that subcontractors and vendors are available and
fit to the task.
- To ensure that spares are ready at hand and staff has been
briefed on the task expected.
- Raise a risk assessment case when further Safety
investigations are advisable.
- To strictly follow the OES (original equipment
supplier/manufacturer) instructions on installation of the
instrumentation and control system. To ensure the presence of the
vendor when required.
- To ensure that the equipment to be installed has been
mechanically, electrically and process isolated, instructing the teams
to post the pertinent warnings on the equipment.
- To ensure to respect the timing provided for the job,
reporting eventual delays and deviations.
- To monitor the frequency of failures on similar equipment,
reporting eventual discrepancies.
- Regularly check the material/spares availability, taking
into consideration the use, delivery time, and expiring frequency of
sensors and perishable electronic cards.
- To ensure that clear communication is passed to the users
for end of construction Job and equipment ready to be commissioned.
Subcontractors
Daily Management Tasks
- To check that the said schedule is kept to, and to promote
action to recover any delay.
- To check that the equipment and manpower employed by the
Subcontractor are adequate and that the works performed by the
Subcontractor conform to design documents, Safety regulations, and to
the Quality.
- Perform inspections and sign the necessary certificates as
per Site Inspection Plans.
- To prepare the non-conformity register for each
Subcontractor and co-ordinate nonconformity resolution.
- To detect any design errors, and where possible rectify the
same or request the Site Engineer to make the necessary changes.
- To check Subcontractors’ work progress status sheets and
sign the same for approval.
- To manage vendor specialists.
To assist the Contract Manager/Engineer in defining new prices,
in preparing amendments to subcontract and in analyzing and discussing
claims.
