About the project/Role description

The project is planning the expansion of the existing Hamburg Refinery, by adding the following process units and facilities: HVO Unit, pre-treatment Unit, tank farm balance (tanks partially supplied by others), interconnecting lines, new electrical substation and rack room, interconnecting cables between new substation building and existing substation and control room.

The Construction Quality Manager (QAM) is appointed for major projects or for projects of difficulty due to the size or to the complex contractual structure, like Consortium or Joint Venture (where the Company has the leadership role).

His/her main responsibility is to keep relations with Partners and Client to ensure that QA/QC Plan and procedures are correctly applied by all members of Consortium (if any), verify the uniformity and coordination among all members and ensure uniformity and coherence.

Duties and responsibilities

• To ensure Site Quality Plan adequacy and application at Site, arranging any reviews, if required.
• To verify Non Destructive Test, Welding Inspectors activities, Painting & Corrosion Inspectors activities and quality control site team activities

• To ensure the proper preparation of the test, inspection reports and books

• To review Subcontractors’ site Quality System, Quality Organization and procedures
•  To check the flow of information and documents, for example Request for Inspections, follow up of the activities with subcontractors, non-conformities
• To identify any organizational or procedural defect, analysing critical points, arranging any corrective action together with the Site Manager and informing the home office pertinent departments.
• To plan and perform periodical Audit on Subcontractors activities.
•  To prepare his/her own section of the Project Monthly report.

The Construction Quality Manager operatively reports to the Site Manager

Experience

• At least 5 years of experience in industrial construction works, preferred Oil & Gas.
• Appreciated degree in engineering or technical discipline.

Skills and Abilities

Adapted to work in diverse and multicultural environment.

Able to work under time and target pressure.
