Job summary/Role description

The selected candidate will have the unique opportunity to join a structured Group career pathway designed to develop future site-focused professionals. Throughout this journey, the Junior Planning Engineer will benefit from specialized technical training and ongoing support from a dedicated team, with the primary goal of preparing the individual for assignment to one of the Group’s projects in a site role. Working closely with experienced colleagues and senior professionals, the candidate will be fully integrated into project site planning activities, acquiring hands-on experience and growing within a dynamic, collaborative environment.

 

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Support daily site planning activities, contributing to the preparation and updating of work schedules under the guidance of the Planning team.

  • Assist with collecting and verifying physical progress data on site, working alongside site managers and subcontractors.

  • Participate in evaluating the feasibility of construction schedules based on document deliveries and material availability.

  • Collaborate with the Material Control team to ensure alignment between supply chain and project plans.

  • Help draft weekly and monthly progress reports, following Project Control guidelines.

  • Actively engage in specialized training sessions covering planning, scheduling, software, and project control procedures.

  • Support the preparation of progress curves, manpower histograms, and resource analyses, developing technical skills through practical and theoretical mentoring.

 

 

Person Specification

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • Degree, preferably in engineering (civil, industrial, management and similar) or equivalent.

Experience

  • Work experience between 0 and 12 months; short internships or traineeships will also be considered.

  • Strong motivation to learn and keen interest in project planning and controls within the construction sector.

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint); familiarity with project management software (Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar) is an advantage.
