Job Summary: The BBS Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) program within the organization. This role focuses on promoting safe work practices by observing employee behaviors, providing feedback, and driving safety culture improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Development and Implementation: Develop and implement the BBS program, ensuring it aligns with organizational safety goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Feedback and Coaching: Provide constructive feedback and coaching to employees to reinforce safe behaviors and correct unsafe practices.
  • Data Management: Maintain accurate records of observations, feedback, and safety performance metrics. Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Safety Campaigns: Organize and develop and lead safety campaigns and initiatives to promote a safe behavioral attitude.
  • Communication: Communicate safety performance and BBS program updates to all levels of the organization, including management and employees.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve the BBS program based on feedback, data analysis, and industry best practices.
  • Behavioral Observations: Conduct regular observations of employee behaviors to identify safe and unsafe practices.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a safety-related role, preferably within the construction or oil and gas industry.
  • Certifications: IOSH, NEBOSH, Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of BBS principles and practices.
    • Excellent observational and analytical skills.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to provide constructive feedback and coaching.
    • Proficiency in data management and analysis.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
