About the project/Role description

The project is planning the expansion of the existing Hamburg Refinery, by adding the following process units and facilities: HVO Unit, pre-treatment Unit, tank farm balance (tanks partially supplied by others), interconnecting lines, new electrical substation and rack room, interconnecting cables between new substation building and existing substation and control room.

Site Inspector ensures the implementation of all the quality procedures and standards in the Site. They are responsible for performing inspections on subcontractor’s activities assuring the conformity to site inspection plans and applicable engineering.

They report to the construction manager

Duties and responsibilities

  • To ensure the implementation of all the Quality/HSE procedures and standards for the areas or activities (subcontractors) of responsibilities, together with the other members of Quality/HSE teams;
  • To support the Construction Material Controller in checking the Supplier’s material prior to the start of works;
  • To address Subcontractor activities for his/her own discipline, ensuring that Plant Construction works are performed according to the applicable engineering specification, site procedures and Site Inspection Plan according to Quality & Safety procedures, as well as according to the terms and conditions of the subcontract
  • To check that the manpower employed by the Subcontractor continuously respect the requirements of applicable procedures and the Quality level fixed by the same.
  • To check that the equipment employed by the Subcontractor are adequate and calibrated as required according to applicable procedures and to the Quality level fixed by the same
  • To check that the works performed by the Subcontractor conform to the applicable documents, Safety regulations, and to the Quality level fixed by the same, in coordination with the other members of Quality/HSE teams;
  • To inform the Site Engineer to make the necessary changes when detects any design errors;
  • To promote the non-conformity draft and informs the Construction Manager, supporting them in the nonconformity resolution;
  • Keeping the Construction Manager informed, receive the Request of Inspection from Subcontractors and confirm to proceed with the inspection informing the Client, assume the responsibility in case of Client’s (motivated) rejection of the inspection taking care of remedial action and avoiding the repetition of similar case in future.

 

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • University Degree or Diploma in relevant discipline or equivalent

Experience

  • Experience in the oil and gas industry
  • At least 5 years relevant experience in a similar role
  • Experience in Gas Plants and EPC Projects

Skills and Abilities

  • Fluent English;
  • Excellent IT and analytical skills;
  • Excellent communications, team-oriented and interpersonal skills;
  • Attention to details;

Self-motivation and direction, with a strong bias toward timely performance and problem resolution.

Compensation

For this position, the starting gross annual salary, paid for monthly installments, will be no less than € 60.000

The overall compensation package will be governed by company policies and applicable agreements, including any provisions related to benefits and variable components in compliance with the Group standards.
