Job summary/Role description

  • Commissioning Machinery Supervisor executes the activities pertaining to the pre-commissioning and commissioning of the plant.
  • He / She operates in compliance with the quality requirements, health / environmental / safety regulations and following the stated procedures.
  • He / She reports to the Commissioning Machinery Superintendent (CMT).
  • He / She is assigned to the project by AVIMP Head of Department.

 

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • To develop the detailed pre-commissioning procedures for machinery & packages, procedures for the functional tests of the machineries according to the instructions of commissioning machinery superintendent.
  • To field check the DAC and prepare relevant commissioning punch list, following the CME instructions.
  • Expediting closing of pending punch list items in accordance with commissioning superintendent (COT) priorities.
  • Monitor and ensure the activities are carried out in accordance with the procedures and requirements.
  • Ensure all safety rules are in force and are followed in field.
  • Supervise the works of vendors’ specialists and ensure their efficient utilization.
  • To organize and manage the operations in field of the assigned team from the subcontractor by controlling their job and the implementation of plant safety procedures in case of emergency.
  • Support the vendors specialists in the execution of the job and coordinate their actions with the commissioning supervisors.
  • Supervise the works of vendors’ specialists and ensure their efficient utilization.
  • To keep records of all activities performed in the logbook.
  • To produce the certificates, duly signed by the involved parties, and handover to certification engineer (QA/QC).
  • Responsible for ongoing maintenance (planned and corrective maintenance on plant units already in operation) in accordance with commissioning superintendent (COT) and commissioning machinery superintendent (CMT) priorities.
  • Can be the authorized person designated by the site manager to receive or issue a permit to work according to the project permit to work procedure.

 

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

Experience

  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in construction of large oil & gas plants / EPC projects.
