Job summary/Role description
|
|
The
position ensures that emergency response personnel are properly trained,
equipped, and capable of responding effectively to workplace incidents,
including medical emergencies, fire, rescue operations, confined space
incidents, work-at-height emergencies, and other crisis situations

organizing, implementing, and continuously improving emergency preparedness
and response programs

Duties and responsibilities
|
Develop, implement,
and maintain site emergency response plans and procedures Coordinate emergency
response activities during incidents and emergencies Conduct emergency drills,
exercises, and simulations to evaluate response effectiveness Ensure compliance with
applicable regulatory requirements, company standards, and client specifications Participate in
incident investigations and recommend corrective and preventive actions Rope Rescue and
Technical Rescue Support:
Demonstrate proficiency in emergency rope rescue
techniques and IRATA- based rope access principles Perform and supervise the tying, inspection, and application
of rescue knots including:
-Figure Eight Knot (Single and On-A-Bight) -Single/Double Fisherman’s Knot (Locking) -Alpine Butterfly Knot -Clove Hitch -Munter Hitch -Prusik Knots (different variance) -Overhand Backup Knot -Support work-at-height rescue planning and execution -Inspect rescue equipment and ensure readiness for emergency
deployment -Administrative and
Documentation Functions Develop, review, revise, and update emergency
procedures, rescue plans, and response protocols Maintain records of emergency drills,
training, inspections, certifications, and equipment inventories Prepare emergency response reports and
performance evaluations Coordinate emergency response meetings and
safety briefings Ensure emergency documentation remains current
and compliant with organizational requirements Training and Competency Development Conduct or coordinate emergency response and
rescue training programs. Evaluate ERT member competency and identify
training needs Mentor and coach emergency responders in
rescue techniques and emergency procedures Promote continuous improvement in emergency
preparedness capabilities. Equipment Management Maintain inventories of emergency and rescue
equipment Ensure inspection, testing, maintenance, and
certification requirements are met Coordinate procurement and replacement of
emergency response equipment as necessary

|

Knowledge & Qualifications
|
- Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or equivalent
|
|
Experience
|
|
Experienced
in Occupational Safety and Emergency Management, Fire Protection, Industrial
Safety, or related discipline Experience
in industrial, construction, oil and gas, power generation, or similar environments
Experience
coordinating Emergency Response Teams in industrial or construction environments Experience
with confined space rescue, work-at-height rescue, and technical rescue
operations Familiarity
with Incident Command System (ICS) principles. Experience
conducting emergency drills, exercises, and post-incident evaluations

Skills and Abilities
|
- Effective communication and report-writing skills
- Excellent administrative
and documentation skills
- Proficiency in emergency
rescue knots and rope rescue techniques.
- Strong knowledge of
emergency response systems and incident management
- First Aid, CPR, and AED
certification
- Minimum 8 years of experience
in the role
- Ability to assess risks and
make sound decisions during emergencies
- IRATA certification or demonstrated
knowledge of IRATA rope access and rescue techniques is preferred.
- Relevant emergency response,
rescue, or firefighting certifications.
