Job Summary: The
BBS Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining
the Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) program within the organization. This role
focuses on promoting safe work practices by observing employee behaviors,
providing feedback, and driving safety culture improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Development and Implementation: Develop and implement the BBS program, ensuring
it aligns with organizational safety goals and regulatory requirements.
- Feedback and Coaching: Provide constructive feedback and coaching to
employees to reinforce safe behaviors and correct unsafe practices.
- Data Management: Maintain accurate records of observations,
feedback, and safety performance metrics. Analyze data to identify trends
and areas for improvement.
- Safety Campaigns: Organize and develop and lead safety campaigns
and initiatives to promote a safe behavioral attitude.
- Communication: Communicate safety performance and BBS program
updates to all levels of the organization, including management and
employees.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve the BBS
program based on feedback, data analysis, and industry best practices.
- Behavioral Observations: Conduct regular observations of employee
behaviors to identify safe and unsafe practices.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s
degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, or a
related field.
- Experience: Minimum
of 3-5 years of experience in a safety-related role, preferably within the
construction or oil and gas industry.
- Certifications: IOSH, NEBOSH, Certified Safety Professional
(CSP) or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of BBS principles and practices.
- Excellent observational and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback and
coaching.
- Proficiency in data management and analysis.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
